PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom plug structure for a fishing rod that can be readily installed and is resistant to loosening. SOLUTION: The bottom plug 10 is equipped with the male screw 11, the neck 12 that is made smaller in its diameter than that of the male screw 11 on the rod root side, and the screw head 13 that is connected continuously to the neck part 12 on the rod root side so that the outer diameter of the screw head 13 may almost coincide with the outer periphery face on the rod root side of the butt section rod 1. In addition, a ring 14 is disposed to the neck 12 so that the ring may pass through the neck 12. When the male screw 11 is screwed into the female screw 20, the rotary torque of the bottom plug 10 increases in response to the grade of the fastening by the screwing.
