PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a luminaire for a table as the general lighting at the same time by setting a common area in the center of a top plate using its two opposite sides as using edges at least and mounting the luminaire above the common area. SOLUTION: In a top plate 1, the opposite two sides are used as using edges 1a, 1b respectively, and a part positioned in the substantially equal distance from the using ends is used as a common area 2. In the common area 2 of the top plate 1, a luminaire supporting means 5, by which a luminaire capable of lighting the substantially whole area of the top plate 1 is held above the common area 2, is arranged. As the luminaire, a rod type fluorescent tube, which is slightly shorter than the length of the lateral rack material 52, is used, and the luminaire is arranged between both side edge parts 1c, 1d throughout substantially so as to be installed to either of the lower face side or the upper face side of the lateral rack material 52 selectively. At least a part of the general lighting is carried out in this table, so that a load to a building interior can be reduced. In addition, the general lighting can be carried out without any loss because the luminaire serving as a part of the general lighting is installed on each table.
