PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut down the number of rejection caused by a trouble by constituting a forging line equipment in a way that a temporary standby device for a forged article is installed at a transfer line side between forging machines, the forged article is transferred between the transfer line and the temporary standby device with an automatic load exchanging device and the forged article on the temporary standby device can be rejected outside the transfer line. SOLUTION: An allowable time from the occurrence of a trouble till its dissolution is set for each equipment, based on a permissible temperature of an equipment. Even if a trouble occurs in a transfer line of the forged article, processing of a half finished product located at upper stream side than the point where the trouble is taken place is continued. Simultaneously, at a point right before the place where the trouble occurs, the half finished product is succesively moved by the automatic load changing device from the line to the temporary standby device. When the trouble is dissolved within the allowable time, the half finished product on the temporary standby device is returned into the line. When the trouble is not dissolved within the allowable time, the half finished product on the temporary standby device is rejected.
