摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cutting tool made of tungsten cemented carbide super hard alloy excellent in a surface lubrication property against a chip. SOLUTION: This cutting tool is formed on the surface of WC base tungsten cemented carbide super hard alloy base body by chemical and/or physically vapor depositing the hard coated layer constituted by the lower layer of Ti compound layer consisting of one kind or two kinds or more out of basically TiC layer, TiN layer, TiCN layer, TiCO layer and TiCON layer and the upper layer of Al2O3 layer by the average layer thickness of 3 to 30μm. This tool is formed by chemical and/or physical vapor depositing Ti oxide layer having the average layer thickness of 0.1 to 3μm, further, as the upper most substrate layer in addition to the hard coated layer and satisfying 1.2 to 1.7 at the atomic ratio to X: Ti at the case represented by a composition formula: TiOx and a Ti oxide layer having the average layer thickness of 0.05 to 2μm as the upper most surface layer similarly and satisfying 0.01 to 0.4 at the atomic ratio to Y: Ti at the case represented by a composition formula: TiC1-Y(O)Y, but (O) shows the diffusion oxygen from the upper most surface substrate) as the hard coated layer.
