<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the direction of a hit ball and to obviate the occurrence of an offset in a sweet spot position and an actual ball hitting position by providing a metallic golf club head which is formed to a hollow shape and has a back wall and face member with an opening in a specific height position of the back wall. SOLUTION: A head body 1 has a top wall 1a, sole wall 1b, toe wall 1c and heel wall 1d which respectively have prescribed thicknesses and which are integrally formed by having an annular shape. The back wall 1f is formed integrally with the sole wall 1b at the rear end of the annular part and in this case, the back wall 1f is integrated with the sole wall 1b so as to form the opening 3 in an upper part without closing the rear end of the annular part. The opening 3 is so formed that the entire part upper than half the head height H opens, by which the centroid position (sweet spot) is made lower than the top end edge of the back wall, the inertia moment is increased and the directivity of the hit ball is enhanced.</p> |
