PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for curable coating materials which shows a low viscosity, a high curing rate and an excellent adhesion to substrates. SOLUTION: This resin composition for curable coating materials contains (a) a radically polymerizable, unsaturated group-containing compound, (b) a moisture-curable urethane prepolymer and (c) a radical polymerization initiator. The moisture-curable urethane prepolymer of component (b) is obtained by the reaction of an isocyanate compound with polyhydric alcohols containing at least one polyhydric alcohol chosen from (1) a polyhydric alcohol containing an allyl ether group, (2) an animal or vegetable oil or polyhydric alcohol derived therefrom and (3) an ester polyol obtained via condensation of an unsaturated group-containing polybasic acid and a polyhydric alcohol, and/or further contains (d) a metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid.
