PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester porous film, especially a biodegradable polyester porous film, further a composite porous film of polyester and inorganic calcium salt, useful as a biological medium material for dental and surgical uses, etc., a hygienic material, etc., including a cushioning material for packing supplied with flexibility, air permeability and moisture permeability, a packaging material such as sheet/film, etc., a filter medium and an agricultural film. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polyester porous film or a composite porous film of polyester and an inorganic calcium salt comprises (a) a process for dissolving/dispersing a polyester (or a kneaded material obtained by kneading or melting/kneading the polyester with the inorganic calcium salt) in a good solvent for the polyester to prepare a solution/dispersion of the polyester (or the polyester and the inorganic calcium salt), (b) a process for mixing/ dispersing a pore forming agent to be extracted with a poor solvent for the polyester into the solution/dispersion and then carrying out casting/film formation to form a film and (c) a process for immersing the film in the poor solvent for the polyester to extract the pore forming agent.
