PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bath agent having a mild feeling to the skin in taking bath and excellent persistency of moist feeling to the skin after taking bath and having high moisture retaining properties by making the agent contain a specific polysaccharide derivative. SOLUTION: This bath agent is made to contain a hydrophobic group- containing polysaccharide derivative. The polysaccharide preferably contains 0.1-10 hydrophilic groups per 100 monosaccharide units. From the stand point of safety aspects and easiness of production, a pullulan-cholesterol derivative, obtained by reacting a compound having a sterol group on one of the molecule and an isocyanate group on the other end of the molecule with a pullulan having about 1000-1000000 average molecular weight so that 0.1-10 sterol groups per 100 monosaccharides of the pullulan are introduced, is most preferable. The bath agent composition remarkably improved in moisture retaining properties to the skin is obtained making the composition further contain an oily ingredient.
