PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pile which can be strongly retained by a hydraulic machine or the like without breaking an upper end of a lower pile, and facilitates attachment of a female screw joint member to the upper end of the lower pile main pipe without damaging a lower pile head when a lower end of an upper pile is screwed into the upper end of the lower pile to connect both the piles together, and to provide the lower pile and the female screw joint member. SOLUTION: A joint member 4 attached to an upper end of a lower pile main pipe 2a, has an internal peripheral screw cylinder portion 1 which is closely fitted into the interior of the upper end peripheral wall of the lower pile main body 2a, and a protruding portion 8 which is integrally formed at an upper, end of the cylinder portion 7 in a manner protruding on the upper end side of the peripheral wall of the lower pile main pipe 2a. The joint member 4 is combined with the lower pile main pipe 2a in one body by welding W.
