PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtained a protective film which adheres to an optical material, covers it, and is not peeled off by an environmental change, such as change in temperature, through it can be easily peeled off when necessary by forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer containing a fluorocompound on the surface of a protective substrate. SOLUTION: This optical member comprises a surface-protective film 1, a protective substrate 11, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 12, and an optical material 2. Preferably, the protective substrate is made of a transparent polymer (e.g. a polyester resin) and has a thickness of 10-200 μm. The surface-protective film 1 is prepared by compounding a fluorocompound (e.g. a perfluoroalkylsulfonate) into a pressure-sensitive adhesive substrate (e.g. an acrylic polymer) and forming pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 12, 21 from the resultant composition on a protective substrate 11, e.g. by casting. Preferably, 2-8 pts.wt. fluorocompound is compounded into 100 pts.wt. base polymer so that the strength of adhesion to the optical material at normal temperature under a peeling angle of 180 deg. is 20-70 gf/10 mm. The optical material is preferably selected from among polarizing plates, reflection-type polarizing plates, polarization-separation- type polarizing plates, and laminates having their phase contrast plates. |
