<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink being nonproblematic in poor follow and blotting of writing and drooping of ink from a penpoint, having excellent penetrativity, and forming good writing, which ink comprises a penetrant, a colorant, humectant, and water and has a viscosity in a specified range and a surface tension in a specified range. SOLUTION: This ink has a viscosity of 1.2-10 mPa.s at 20 deg.C and a surface tension of 35-55 dyn/cm at 20 deg.C. The penetrant used is a glycol ether represented by the formula: R1-(O-R2)x-O-R3 (wherein R1 is 2-4C alkyl or phenyl; R2 is -CH2-CH2- or -CH2CH(CH3)- ; R3 is H or a 1-6C alkyl; and X is 2 or 3). 3- Methyl-3-methoxybutanol is also desirable. The humectant used is a polyhydric alcohol, urea or the like. It is desirable that the ink contains 5-15 wt.% colorant, 0.5-3.0 wt.% penetrant, and 2-30 wt.% humectant.</p> |
