PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel polyimide with an electrical conductivity and to provide an intermediate transcription belt for an electronic photography apparatus which belt has no need of an electrically conductive filler and has uniformly a desired volume resistivity. SOLUTION: The electrically conductive polyimide comprises an aromatic polyimide containing in the repeating units an acid anhydride part and a diamine part having the skeleton in which condensed benzene rings are bonded with a benzene ring or condensed benzene rings via a conjugated system or sulfur atom. The electrically conductive polyimide comprises an intermediate transcription belt which is used in an electronic photograph apparatus to form a picture by transcribing a toner picture formed on a photosensitive material to a picture carrier.
