<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method for setting a VP(virtual path) for which VP setting time is not related to a network scale and the number of user terminals by providing a means for receiving a request including a destination and a transmission band value from a user and the means for setting the VP where cells to be transmitted pass through corresponding to the request. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a VP constitution table 1 where real transmission lines which the VPs can pass through are recorded and a path table 2 where the excessive bands are recorded for the respective real transmission lines. Then, in a VP setting part 4, one of the VPs settable to the destination included in the request is selected by referring to the VP constitution table 1, the excessive band value of the transmission line is obtained from the path table 2, the excessive band value and the transmission band value included in the request are compared and it is judged that setting is possible when an excess is present. When it is judged that the setting is impossible, different selection is performed. Also, when it is judged that the setting is possible, the VP band of the request is secured and the part of the band is subtracted from the path table 2.</p> |
