The invention relates to the field of preparation of coatings and novel materials in vacuum. A process for preparation of coal-containing material by a method of electron-beam evaporation of carbon and at least one additional component in vacuum with subsequent condensation, in which vapor flow is separated at least one time in the way between crucible and substrate, entrapped atoms and clusters of transition metal, directed pure vapor flow of carbon, or vapor flows of carbon and at least one additional component on substrate where they are condensed in the conditions of heating or cooling of substrate. A unit for method realization is also applied. The invention also provides preparation of especially coal-containing coatings and synthesis of novel nano-materials.
