The invention concerns a furniture element such as a seat produced by folding a sheet so as to form, when it is assembled: two lateral flanks (2) and (3) each comprising a front vertical reinforcement (11) and (12) and a rear oblique reinforcement (13) and (14) interlocked to provide said seat with lateral support. The seating part (1) results from folding at the top the lateral flanks (2) and (3). It is constituted by a rigidifying front fold of the seat part (15) and interlocking the front vertical reinforcements (11) and (12). It is extended towards the rear by a rigidifying surface (4) which is supported by being lowered onto the rear reinforcements (13) and (14); it is extended upwards by a back (5) topped with an upper fold (6) having two small flaps (7) and (8). Said back has two lateral ends (9) and (10) towards the front fixed to the lateral flanks (2) and (3) to uphold the back. A reinforcing crosspiece (18) can be added through slots (19, 20, 21, 22) to reinforce the seat part.
