The self locking telescopic device consists of a pair of telescopic elements, sliding one within the other, with the internal element (1) carrying almost along its entire length, a series of teeth (2), with each tooth having one flank roughly perpendicular to the axis of the tube. The external element (3) carries a spring loaded locking mechanism (5), which is designed to lock the internal element in position or release it as required by means of a push button.
