Plasma torch with an electrode system having a longer life duration, its use for plasma cutting, an automatic plasma cutting installation and its method of use for plasma cutting operations

A plasma torch fitted with an electrode system having an elevated life is made up of a torch body (1) incorporating a hollow electrode (2) having a central passage (222), cut axially inside the torch body and a tuyere (4) traversed by an ejection channel (41) for the plasma jet, the ejection channel and the central passage of the hollow electrode being coaxial. The central passage of the hollow electrode emerge axially, via a first orifice situated at the lower end of the hollow electrode, into an internal plasmagenic chamber (204), opposite the ejection channel of the tuyere, and the central passage of the hollow electrode emerges, directly or indirectly, to atmosphere via a second orifice at the upper end of the hollow electrode. Independent claims are also included for: (a) utilization of this torch for a plasma cutting operation; (b) an installation for automatic plasma cutting; and (c) a plasma cutting operation using this torch.
