An air conditioner, wherein an electrical equipment unit (14) is disposed so that a longitudinal dimension thereof is at least 1/3 or more of the longitudinal dimension of an indoor unit casing (1) or an outlet (11), whereby the dimension of an indoor heat exchanger can be increased to increase an air conditioning efficiency without increasing the size of a main unit casing or the main unit casing can be formed compact without reducing the size of the indoor heat exchanger.
