<p>Manufacturing a coated solid support comprises coating a metal layer on the support and depositing a silica layer uniformly with a stable thickness by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), where the support is useful to determine the presence of a compound to bind specifically to target compounds present at surface of the support by surface plasmonic resonance (SPR). Independent claims are included for: (1) a coated support, in which the thickness of the layer silica deposited on the support is uniformity and thickness of the deposited silica layer and/or SPR are not modified after the treatment of the support with piranha solution (a 3:1 mixture of sulfuric acid and 30% hydrogen peroxide), at 80[deg]C; (2) a process of determining the presence/quantity of the compound in a sample, where the compound binds/adsorbs specifically to the target compound or a method of sifting the compounds to be fixed/adsorbed specifically on the given target compound comprising preparing the support, where the support is fixed to the target compound by a covalent bond, contacting the support with the sample containing the compound to form a complex to determine the presence/quantity, optionally washing the sample to eliminate the compounds that have not specifically fixed/adsorbed to the target, and determining the presence/quantity of the compound in the sample by the SPR technique; and (3) a kit for the determination of the presence or the quantity of a compound in a sample and a diagnostic/analytical instrument/device comprising the support.</p> |
