A gene originating in, for example, Arabidopsis thaliana, having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2, and encoding a protein which participates in the signal transduction of cytokinin. This gene is usable in producing the above protein. By transferring into a plant, moreover, it is usable for the regeneration, differentiation, growth, etc. of the plant.
