Release agent is a reactive material which reacts with the molded resin. The solid or waxy material comprises a fluorinated compound with reactive groups which can be tuned to the chemistry of the molded resin. When applied to the mold surface the surface of the molded resin is saturated with the release agent. The agent has only one functional group per molecule allowing alignment of the fluorine chains. Washing away of the agent from the molding surface is unnecessary as the agent acts as an anti-adhesion and anti-soiling coating.
