The centrifuge has a rotating drum (1) in a housing (3). The housing is arranged to tilt opposite a base frame in the form of a floor piece (2) and is sealed in the working position opposite the back wall. At least one peripheral seal is formed between the housing and the back wall via a chamber (12) with a housing edge on the back wall. The chamber can be sealed using a sub-pressure via lines (13) and opened using normal pressure. Preferred Features: The sealing surfaces of the housing are formed through bars inserted into the chamber. The bar and chamber are formed as a cone.
