The forehead lamp has at least one housing (3,4) for a light and/or battery, a head band (2) for mounting the housing(s) on the head, an electrical connection (5) between the battery and light and at least one slot for joining the band to the housing. There are at least two separate, parallel slots (15,16) on the housing or another component. At least one end of the band can be inserted through a slot independently of the other end and can be fixed in place after insertion so that the effective length of the band can be changed solely by moving it in the slot and/or the band can be easily replaced by another band.
