<p>A metal can label adapted to be thermally bonded to metal cans, comprising a heat-resistant transparent label substrate, a bonding layer of thermosetting resin, and at least one layer selected from the group consisting of a print layer and a metal-deposited layer disposed between the transparent label substrate and the bonding layer, wherein the end of the label is provided with a clear portion of predetermined width in which the transparent label substrate and bonding layer are laminated together, with neither the print layer nor the metal-deposited layer interposed there between. The metal can label can be applied to the peripheral surface of the barrel of a metal can by thermal bonding. In this case, the clear portion of the label may be hidden by a wrapping strip for the can barrel upper end and the can lid. The label provides a superior external ornament and can be reliably fixed on the outer surface of the metal can barrel. Moreover, the label hardly comes off even if the metal can is subjected to deep drawing or a hot-water or retort treatment.</p> |
