METHOD FOR REUSING POLYESTER CHIP

A method for reusing a polyester chip by subjecting a polyester chip having polybasic acid units the major acid unit of which is a terephthalic acid unit and a polyol to transesterification and then subjecting the resultant and a polybasic acid to transesterificating to produce a modified polyester resin. Another method for reusing a polyester chip by subjecting a polyester chip having polybasic acids the major acid unit of which is a terephthalic acid unit and a polybasic acid to transesterification and subjecting the resultant and a polyol to transesterification to produce a modified polyester resin. Modified polyester resins produced by the methods and used as binders for paint, adhesive, ink, and so forth are provided.
