The invention relates to a screw vacuum pump (1), comprising two rotors (2, 3), whose screw threads (4, 5) intermesh and roll off each other without contact during operation and have a decreasing gradient, at least in sections, from the inlet to the outlet. In order to reduce the production costs of rotors with screw threads of this type, the profile contour (14) of the tooth base in axial cross-section is provided with a straight section (22), whose axial dedendum angle alpha is equal to or greater than 0 (Figure 3).
