The invention relates to sulfonyl carboxamide derivatives, in addition to their physiologically compatible salts and physiologically functional derivatives and to their use in the production of medicaments for preventing and treating hyperlipidemia and arteriosclerotic diseases. The invention relates to compounds of formula (I), wherein the radicals have the given meanings and to their physiologically compatible salts and physiologically functional derivatives. The compounds are suitable for use, e.g. as lipid- lowering substances.
