The signal conversion of an image signal in an intermediate frequency position takes place using oversampling, followed by a digital filtration (2) and conversion into a complex-value digital signal. A two-stage frequency translation (3, 5) produces a real output signal in a different intermediate frequency position which is independent of the intermediate frequency position of the input signal. Image signals of differing norms can be processed further using an existing interface.
