AN INTERFACE FOR PURCHASING PRODUCTS IN A BROADCAST PROGRAMMING NETWORK

A broadcast programming network device includes a tuner capable of being tuned to any of multiple broadcast video programming reception channels. When tuned to a particular channel, the broadcast video programming on that channel and an application associated with that channel are received. A processor is provided to execute the received application, which causes the processor to operate so as to provide a user interface that enables a user to receive and input commerce related information. A display screen displays the user interface simultaneously with any broadcast video programming. A controller enables the user to input information to the user interface that is processed and transmitted by the network device.
