The flexible screw for transport of materials consists of a flexible metal or PVC plastic spiral (figure 1), which at both ends is tubular, not spiral. Inside there is a flexible non-kink wire rope 3 which has rings 4 threaded on it. The length and spacing of the rings vary according to the length and diameter of the screw. The rings 4 and the wire rope 3 make up a flexible shaft to which an Archimedean screw 2 is affixed. The curved screw for transport of building materials, plaster, mortar, animal feed, cereals etc. has advantages over currently used screws due to the flexibility which characterises it. Its flexibility depends on its length and it has the facility to form a circle. |
