The invention relates to a hospital bed (1), comprising a prone-position surface (2) and a supine-position surface (3), whereby said surfaces (2, 3) can be pivoted about a rotational axis which runs parallel to the longitudinal axes of the prone-position surface (2) and supine-position surface (3). The invention aims to provide a hospital bed, on which the position of the patient can be easily changed, without any risk to said patient's health and without having to reconnect the supply lines to the patient. To this end, the prone-position surface (2) and the supine-position surface (3) can be connected at their head (4) and/or foot ends (9) to at least one part of a ring (8) which stands perpendicular to the prone-position surface (2) and the supine-position surface (3) and the centre of the ring (8) lies on the rotational axis.
