The drying cabinet has a number of hanging rods for supporting the towels to be dried, positioned above a drying unit (11) having a heater (13), e.g. using a positive-temperature-coefficient resistance and at least one electric fan (12), for circulation of hot air through the drying cabinet via air openings (15) in the top surface of the drying unit.
