The engine has two or more rotary pistons (1,2) operating alternately in a cylinder or cylinder-like body with the four strokes taking place simultaneously. Force transfer is through a triple chain with the outermost chain (13) running over a complete toothed wheel, a second chain (14) running on a toothed wheel having a circumference of less than 180 degrees which is fixed on the outer piston root. The other outer chain (15) runs on the toothed wheel whose circumference is less than 180 degrees and is attached to the inner piston root. the piston comprises the piston root, piston disc and piston head.
