A pair of scissors such as used for cutting paper, household or child's use is fixed to the underneath of a large plate which forms the cutting surface (1), or whereby the fixture (3) does not protrude above the cutting surface. The cutting edge of the top rigid scissors-blade (2) lies parallel with the cutting surface and at most 5 millimeters from it. The plate is raised from the work surface by spacer pieces so that the lower movable cutting blade (4)is freely downward-movable. The lower scissors blade can be guided through a slot (6) in the plate upwards to the top blade.
