A tonneau cover assembly (10) for a motor vehicle (12) having a bed (14), first (16) and second (18) side walls, an end wall and a tailgate (20) defining a cargo area (13) includes a clamp assembly (28) and a plurality of panels (22, 24). The clamp assembly (28) is adapted for coupling to the first side wall (16). The plurality of panels (22, 24) are coupled to a hinge (26) that pivotally interconnects the panels (22, 24) to the clamp assembly (28). At least one of the plurality of panels (22, 24) is adpated to cover at least a portion of the cargo area (13).
