A sealing unit (5) which seals the work space between the platform and work surface (2) is mounted on the mobile carriage so that it can be moved substantially independent of the movement of the platform. the sealing unit surrounds the work platform in a ring and has a drive provided on the mobile carriage and connecting with the sealing unit. The drive can be electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically operated.
