PURPOSE: A wind direction control device of an air conditioner and a method thereof are provided to supply air evenly to left and right parts, and to perform air conditioning simultaneously in the large area by mounting plural step motors and left and right vanes in upper and lower parts of a discharge port. CONSTITUTION: A wind direction control apparatus of an air conditioner is composed of a microcomputer(101) outputting a control signal to control a driving unit; a discharge port supplying air according to the control signal from the microcomputer; first and second step motors(103,104) installed in upper and lower parts of the discharge port to turn repeatedly according to the control signal; first left and right vanes(105) driven to the left and the right according to driving the first step motor; and second left and right vanes(106) driven reversely against the first left and right vanes according to driving the second step motor. Constant air is supplied with controlling left and right vanes individually. Reliability is improved, and the large area is air-conditioned simultaneously.
