PURPOSE: An assembly structure of a gate type change lever for an automobile is provided to more easily assemble a shaft and a change lever installed inside a box type base plate so that improving assembly and reducing the cost for assembling. CONSTITUTION: A change lever(1) is installed in an 'U'-shaped fixing plate(2) with a pin(3) and a return spring(4) to be freely rotated right and left. A hollow shaft(5) is installed at the lower part of the fixing plate is inserted into a coupling hole(6a) of a base plate(6). The shaft(5) is supported by a bolt and a nut penetrating the inside of the shaft.
