PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly execute inter-terminal data communication without depending on a distance by using an infrared ray between terminals within an IrDA specification. SOLUTION: An infrared element 1 for ercecuting infrared communication, a means for controlling the light emission intensity of infrared LED and a means for detecting that a terminal 2 is attached to a collection/deliver device 3 are provided in a portable information terminal 2. When the terminal 2 is attached to the collection/delivery device 3 and infrared communication is executed in a near distance, the light emission intensity of infrared LED is weakened. A means for detecting ambient temperature is provided to control the light emission intensity of infrared LED in accordance with the ambient temperature. Thus, the infrared communication can stably be executed without depending on the distance and the ambient temperature. |
