PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite foam retaining characteristics of a synthetic resin foam excellent in high heat insulating properties, shock-absorbing characteristics, lightness or the like and combinedly having strength usable as a main structural member for building, construction or civil engineering, and a production method for it having high productivity comprising a combination of simple processes, and a composite foam for building, construction or civil engineering. SOLUTION: This foam is a composite structure comprising a lot of aggregated cell structural units without space comprising a foam domain surrounded with polyhedral cell films and walls of hardened thin film of a thermo-setting material surrounding the foam domain, and spacer components are characteristically included in the walls of the hardened thin film.
