PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR CONVERTING PLASTIC WASTE INTO OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process capable of converting plastic waste into oil at a low cost for a long time while preventing the generation of coke and an apparatus suitably applicable to the process. SOLUTION: A process for converting plastic waste by thermally decomposing molten plastic waste in a thermal decomposition tank 1 and recovering decomposition oil from the gaseous thermal decomposition product generated in the thermal decomposition. The thermal decomposition product is forcibly taken out from the thermal decomposition tank by an ejector 8 to feed to a normal pressure distillation tower 9, and only the vapor formed in the normal pressure distillation tower is taken out and cooled to obtain low viscosity light oil. A part of the obtained light oil is sent pressurized and at the same time gasified in the way to be introduced into the thermal decomposition tank in order to use it as a heat source for the plastic waste.
