PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transmission capability curve of a belt without necessitating a correction coefficient and the like by evaluating transmission capability of the belt from a relational formula between a Wd coefficient as push-press force of a pulley per belt unit length, and a ST coefficient as effective tension of the belt per unit winding length. SOLUTION: A relational formula between a Wd coefficient as push-press force of a pulley per belt unit length and a ST coefficient as effective tension of the belt per unit winding length, is found out in a high load transmitting belt. The ST coefficient is a value which effective tension of the belt is divided by a winding length of the pulley, and the WD coefficient is a value which the sum of the tension is divided by the effective pulley diameter of the pulley. Transmission capability of the belt is evaluated by the relational formula and transmission curves which are different from each other per a slip ratio in which the WD coefficient is set as a horizontal axis and the ST coefficient is set as a vertical axis, and a speed change range is predicted as a transmission condition of a transmission device. Accordingly, evaluation of belt transmission capability and the design of the transmission condition in the belt transmission device are facilitated.
