PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a stable pump discharge with little sludge deposited in a pumping pope during continuous operation. SOLUTION: This air lift pump 1 to be erected, when used, comprise a pumping pipe 2 having a liquid suction port 31 at the lower part and a discharge port 32 at the upper part an air supply pipe 3 connected to the pumping pipe 2 for supplying air from the lower part. The pumping pipe 2 contains a lower discharge preventing member 10 and anrpper discharge preventing member 11 above the liquid suction port 31 and under the discharge port 32, respectively, between which a fluid member 9 exists.
