PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minutely color print by a flexible plate of a large size such as an octavo full size or the like. SOLUTION: In the method for mounting a press plate comprising the step of engaging pin holes 2a to 2f of a flexible printing plate having a width of 1,000 mm or more with reference pins projected from above a clamp upper blade of a printer, four or more combinations of the pins and the holes are provided, positions of the two holes provided at both ends of the printing plate of the holes are located 100 mm or less from an edge of the printing plate and an interval of the adjacent pins is 400 mm or less.
