PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make obtainable improved printing quality for a different kind of medium by monitoring the medium moving along a medium path by a sensor, generating a responding signal and adjusting an image pickup parameter in response to the signal. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a housing 12 constituted to guide the medium along the medium path 32, an input device 50 constituted to store an image, a sensor 22 and an image pickup mechanism 24. The sensor 22 is arranged adjacently to the medium path 32, and the medium to be printed is monitored to generate the signal in accordance with the monitoring. In such a case, the sensor 22 is constituted to generate qualitative and/or quantitative characteristic by deciding the qualitative characteristic and the quantitative characteristic of the medium to be printed. The mechanism 24 is arranged adjacently to the medium path 32 and constituted to provide developing material onto the medium corresponding to the image and in accordance with the image pickup parameter and adjust the image pickup parameter in response to the signal. |
