PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance detection accuracy of a motion vector and to decrease arithmetic amount for detecting the motion vector. SOLUTION: In this motion vector detection method, pixel values of a 1st line are compared, two pixels are selected starting in the order of larger pixel values, and pixel values of a 5th line are compared, and two pixels are selected in the order of smaller pixel values. The pixels selected by this sampling method, as shown in Figure (C), are a 3rd pixel (pixel value: 255) and the 4th pixel (pixel value: 224) of the 1st line and the 7th pixel (pixel value: 224) and the 8th pixel (pixel value: 207) of the 5th line. In a conventional sampling method as shown in Figure (b), the 1st and 5th pixels are selected for each line fixedly, then misjudgment of a high matching degree of pixel blocks (b), (c) is caused, but the sampling method by the Figure (c) indicates the sampling reflecting a picture characteristic point of each block. |
