BACK LIGHT UNIT WITHOUT MOLD FRAME OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A back light unit without a mold frame in a liquid crystal display is provided to remove a mold frame by installing a light plate and to minimize volume by reducing weight of the back light unit. CONSTITUTION: A back light unit without a mold frame for a liquid crystal display comprises a phosphor lamp(1) mounted on a side portion of a light plate(10); a lamp reflector(2) combined to the light plate through a screw(30); a reflecting plate(4) reflecting light toward an upper portion of the light plate by preventing leakage of the light toward a lower portion of the light plate; a diffusion plate(5) equalizing the light from the light plate; upper and lower prism plates(6,7) vertically inducing the light into a liquid crystal panel by changing direction of the light; a protecting plate(8) protecting the prism plates; and a double sided tape(20) attaching the reflecting plate on a lower portion of the light plate. Thereby, the back light unit without the mold frame for the liquid crystal display removes a mold frame by installing the light plate to reduce weight of the back light unit.
