PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely control an operation of a plurality of control object apparatuses whose pattern of a remote control code differs with simple setting. SOLUTION: A storage section 103 of this remote control system stores in advance a pattern of a remote control, code to remotely control operations of apparatuses 11a-11c which are control object devices. When, e.g. a key entry section 101 designates reproduction sequence number of music programs, a code processing section 104 retrieves the storage section 103 to specify a pattern of a remote control code corresponding to the apparatus 11a-11c. The patterns of the remote control codes corresponding to the devices 11a-11c are set by an instruction entered in advance from the key entry section 101 or through two-way communication between a device 10a and the devices 11a-11c. The code processing section 104 controls remote control light emitting sections 105a-105c, to transmit remote control codes corresponding to the specified pattern to the apparatus 11a-11c.
