PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patient transfer apparatus which can be installed and can easily transfer a bed-ridden patient by a female or old person by providing a counter weight at one end and a hook at the other end of a holding arm with a combined links as a fulcrum, and providing stopping mechanisms for arm extension and vertical rotation. SOLUTION: An arm 3 is placed horizontally at its most shortened position, stopping mechanisms 6 and 7 for arm extension and vertical rotation are locked, a counter weight 4 is attached, and this apparatus is installed at a bed-side position convenient for work. When a handle is brought down so that the arm 3 points a patient, and switches 33 and 30 for pedal and push button are released, the arm 3 rises up. The arm 3 is brought to right above the patient while the handle is pressed down, and the switches 33 and 30 are set to stop. When a hammock is hung on a hook and the switches 33 and 30 are released, the patient is hung with the counter weight 4 to float in air. The patient is moved under securing with both hands, and is seated on a wheelchair.
