PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cut chip from falling down sideways or being scattered when the cut chip is obtained by cutting a work in a checkered fashion by using a cutting blade of a flat-blade knife type for cutting a thin sheetlike work and making both end parts, in the longitudinal direction of the blade, of a cutting functional part formed from the tip toward the shank part a V-shape in plan view. SOLUTION: The cutting blade 1 is made of cemented carbide and is formed of a flat platelike shank 21 part and a cutting functional part 11 which executes a cutting operation. In addition, the cutting blade 1 has both end parts, in the length-of-blade direction, formed like V as in plan view. The cutting functional part 11 has a sharp V-shaped blade face 11c formed as a whole as viewed from the front or a sharp and almost V-shaped blade face 11c formed, as viewed from the front, of an edge part and right/left slant faces connected to the edge part. In both cases, the cutting functional part 11 has both end parts, in the length-of-blade direction, formed of V-shaped faces 41, 41 in plan view. Thus the blade face 11c and the V-shaped faces 41, 41 are connected to each other at an obtuse angle by making both end parts, in the length-of- blade direction, of the blade face 11c a V-shape in plan view. Consequently, such a phenomenon that a work is torn at the both end parts of the blade face 11c is minimized and a cut chip is prevented from being scattered.
